Does the artist offer any guarantee on their craft sculpture in case of damage during shipping?

Hi there! That’s a really thoughtful question, and I’m glad you’re being careful about protecting the piece you’re investing in.

As a fellow artist, I absolutely understand the worry. When I ship my sculptures, I treat each one like it’s going to a friend or family member—meaning I pack it with extreme care. In my own shop, I do offer a guarantee: if the sculpture arrives damaged during shipping, I will repair or replace it at no extra cost to you. I also take out full insurance on every shipment, just in case, so you never have to face a loss alone.

That said, policies can vary from artist to artist. Some creators do not offer a blanket guarantee, but they might offer to cover the cost of insurance or help you file a claim with the carrier. The best thing you can do is to check their shipping policy or just send a quick message asking:

“Do you guarantee your sculpture against damage during transit? And do you insure the package?”

Most of us love it when collectors ask—it shows you care about the work. If an artist does not offer a guarantee, consider asking if they can add signature-required delivery, use a more padded box (like a double-walled one with foam inserts), or purchase extra insurance for you.

To give you a quick list of what to look for:

- ✅ A clear damage guarantee in their policy

- ✅ Insurance covered by the seller or available as an add-on

- ✅ Secure packing photos or descriptions (I always wrap sculptures in soft cloth, then bubble wrap, then fit them snugly in a custom box)

- ✅ Responsive communication before purchase

In short—yes, many of us do offer a guarantee, but always confirm before you buy. And if you’re ever unsure, just ask. An artist who stands by their work will be happy to talk you through it and put your mind at ease.

Safe collecting, and I hope your new sculpture arrives beautifully!
