I’m allergic to certain metals—are there hypoallergenic options in your craft sculptures?
Absolutely, I understand your concern—metal allergies can be a real hassle, especially when you love art but worry about skin reactions. The good news is, yes, there are hypoallergenic options in my craft sculptures!
When I work with clients who have metal sensitivities, I carefully select materials that are biocompatible and unlikely to trigger allergic responses. For example, I often use surgical-grade stainless steel (316L), which is widely considered hypoallergenic because it contains minimal nickel—a common culprit. Alternatively, anodized aluminum is another excellent choice: its sealed, non-reactive surface prevents direct contact with any trace metals. Titanium is also a fantastic option—it’s lightweight, durable, and virtually inert, meaning it won’t react with your skin.
If you prefer a more organic look, I can craft sculptures from polymer clay, resin, or sealed wood, with no metal at all. Even for pieces that incorporate metal accents, I can use a clear, medical-grade epoxy coating or a thick, non-toxic lacquer to create a barrier between the metal and your skin.
I always recommend a patch test with a small sample before committing to a full piece—just to give you peace of mind. And I’m happy to discuss custom designs that align with both your aesthetic taste and your allergy needs. After all, art should bring you joy, not irritation. So feel free to reach out with any specific concerns—I’ll make sure your sculpture is as safe as it is beautiful.
