What’s the most popular theme or subject for a craft sculpture among your recent customers?

You know, I’ve been chatting with customers at my studio every day, and if I had to pick one theme that’s absolutely flying off the shelves lately, it’s definitely eagles. It used to be that abstract shapes or floral designs were the go-to, but over the past few months, nearly everyone who walks in asks, “Can you make me a sculpture of an eagle in flight?

I think it’s because people are craving that sense of freedom and connection to nature right now. Eagles are just so powerful—they symbolize strength, vision, and a kind of wild grace that really resonates. A lot of my clients tell me they want a piece that feels alive in their home or office, and an eagle with its wings spread wide does exactly that. I’ve made them out of reclaimed wood, hammered copper, even resin with real feathers embedded.

But it’s not just eagles—wolves, whales, and bears are also huge, especially for custom outdoor sculptures. Wildlife, in general, is the heart of what people ask for. There’s something about capturing an animal’s spirit in a solid form that just clicks with everyone. So if you’re thinking about starting a craft sculpture project, I’d say go with what moves you, but if you want a sure winner, an eagle in mid-soar is the way to go.
